Different Applications Of A Co2 Laser Marking Machine
A Co2 Laser Marking Machine is a marking equipment that is manufactured by utilizing the cathode ray system to emit light. The emitted light results into colored dots that produce a permanent, legible and highly vivid marking on the target material with a coating of an aluminum oxide or borate. A laser beam traverses the entire surface area in order to produce a clear and legible text. This equipment is used to produce precision markings on diverse materials such as metals and non-metals. A wide range of industries use this machine for various purposes. Some of these industries are found in the automotive, construction, engineering, and laboratory applications.
A) Plastic Marking Machine - This is also known as injection molding machine. This uses a high-pressure (HPE) environment in which hot plastic is poured into a cavity that has been formed by the application of a hardener. The hardening takes place due to thermo-physical factors and result in the formation of solid materials such as polymers, plastics, rubber and other thermo-physical liquids. There are several applications where a co2 laser marking machine is used. These are marking of parts that require specific temperature ranges to avoid overheating, manufacturing of thermoset plastics, ceramic parts that require specific temperatures, coating of metals with different material, imprinting of objects on ceramics and plastics, etc.
B) Urethane Labels - A co2 laser marking machine is also used for UV dye sublimation printing of plastics, marking of thermoset resins and polymers, ceramic parts that require specific temperatures for their growth, and even coating of metal with different metal. For UV laser marking of acrylics, the co2 laser is used to generate a strong ultraviolet beam that denatured the polymer through the occurrence of color distortion. This prevents the formation of black pigments in the acrylic material. This type of application is used for high quality labels that need to withstand harsh conditions and continuous usage. Such products include safety signs, warning labels, identification tags, etc. They can be produced in various colors and with different textures and surface finishes.
C) Laser Engraving - Another popular method of marking is through the application of co2 laser marking machine to create laser engraved patterns or images. These can be in the form of words, logos, data, designs, etc. Some common data produced by these are logos of leading brands, promotional texts, date, etc. Laser engraving can also be produced in different colors depending upon the need. This can be used in glass products, ceramics, plastic and metal.
D) Fiber Laser Marking Machine - This is a type of co2 laser marking machine that is most commonly used in the production of plastic bottles. It produces text, symbols, bar codes, and images with the use of fiber optic wires. The text or image that will be produced is dependent upon the fiber optic wire that was used. This machine is commonly used in heavy-duty plastic bottles, food packaging applications, and medical applications such as x-ray machines and ultrasound equipment.
E) Electrolysis System - This type of co2 laser marking machine is used in the process of electrolysis, wherein the light energy from the co2 laser marking system will be absorbed and transferred to the resins used for beverage packaging. When these are mixed with water, a particular bonding agent will be formed which will then produce the desired beverage packaging. This machine can also be used in the process of coating metallic surfaces with metallic materials for a non- metallic surface coating or application.
